There are approximately 5.7 million people in the United States with bipolar disorder. In an attempt to eliminate the mystery and misinformation surrounding the illness, many throughout the country diagnosed with this condition were interviewed extensively. Shot in a style influenced by the support group format, they diligently explain the struggle to balance themselves between floating to a state of euphoria and sinking to a devastating depression.

In short, “Up/Down” is a personal analysis of bipolar disorder from those living with it; words of advice and wisdom to help others navigate their diagnosis.

Treatment For Anxiety – Understanding the Different Types of Anxiety

If you’re experiencing panic attacks or overwhelming anxiety, it’s important to understand the various types of treatment for anxiety. While many of the treatments are effective, they may also have unpleasant side effects. Alcohol and other drug dependence can also have a negative impact on your mental well-being. Although many cases of anxiety are treatable at home, others may require medical supervision. A support group is a good option for people who need extra help. Other methods to relieve anxiety include taking long baths, yoga, and meditation.

Anxiety is caused by a chemical reaction in the body called adrenalin. When our bodies are under threat, they release adrenalin, which triggers the fight or flight response in the body. This response prepares us for danger, but in modern life, we are less concerned about running away and more concerned with money, work, family, and our health. Hence, our bodies don’t respond to adrenalin as effectively. Therefore, our bodies are left feeling tense and apprehensive.

Anxiety can be caused by a medical condition or a physiological problem. Medical conditions that cause excessive anxiety may also be the cause. There are several types of anxiety disorders, and treatment for them is critical. Some people experience a physical or emotional response in addition to a persistent, excessive worry. While there are various treatments available for anxiety, some people are not able to get rid of it. However, there is hope for people suffering from an anxiety disorder.

Although self-help coping methods can be effective for many people, it is important to seek professional help if your symptoms are severe and interfering with your life. Medical examination is vital to rule out physical problems. Furthermore, some drugs and recreational activities may also cause anxiety. However, these are just a few of the many treatments available for anxiety. The best treatment for anxiety disorder depends on the type of anxiety and its specific symptoms. Anxiety sufferers should seek medical help if the symptoms persist for more than a week.

While the exact causes of anxiety disorders are unknown, the fact is that these conditions often run in families. Genetics may play a role, and environmental stress may also be a trigger. Treatment for anxiety disorders is best started in the early stages, before the disorder gets too severe. It’s important to seek professional help for this condition, as the longer you wait, the more difficult it will be to overcome. And it’s also important to know that many treatments for anxiety disorders are available for these conditions, and that they’re often effective.

Anxiety attacks usually last between five and ten minutes and peak within 10 minutes. People with anxiety disorder experience the symptoms of a panic attack, and they may even go to the emergency room. This is because the symptoms of anxiety are an exaggerated response to a normal stressor. But even if the attacks are triggered by something, the sufferer needs to realize that they shouldn’t fight the feelings. This is what will help them overcome the anxiety disorder and move forward with their lives.
